Infrared Sauna

Infrared Light

Infrared light (experienced as heat) is the natural radiant heat emitted by the sun. Infrared makes up part of the sun’s invisible spectrum of light waves and is essential for all life forms on earth. It easily penetrates human tissue and causes an activation of thermal energy, creating a sensation of heat. Infrared rays are 100% safe and are even used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.

How does infrared light help you detox?

When the body’s toxin-containing water molecules are exposed to a particular frequency of infrared light, the water begins to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds of the atoms binding the water molecule, and as the water molecule breaks down, cellular toxins like mercury, aluminum and toxic gases, such as sulfur and formaldehyde, are released. Alcohol and nicotine are also purged from the body.

Infrared Saunas vs. Traditional Saunas

Infrared Saunas use infrared heat rays instead of steam, as is used in traditional saunas. Infrared gently heats the body from within instead of heating the air. It has the ability to penetrate the surface of the skin, which gives your body overall radiant warmth. Traditional saunas only heat the air with steam, which can become extremely hot and uncomfortable and will cause you to only sweat at the surface of the tissue. Steam also makes the air difficult to breathe. Infrared Saunas increase the body’s core temperature thus resulting in a much deeper, more detoxifying sweat from the cellular level of the skin where many toxins are housed.

Health Advantages of Infrared Sauna Therapy:

-Detoxification

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal, stay healthy and detoxify. In an infrared sauna, the average person sweats out 20% toxins and 80% water, while in a conventional sauna, the average person only sweats out 3% toxins and 97% water.

-Weight Loss

Studies have shown a 30-40 minute infrared sauna session can burn upwards of 600-900 calories. During a sauna session, your core temperature increases and the body works hard to cool itself, While using an infrared sauna, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.

-Break Down of Cellulite Fat

-Muscle and Pain Relief

Infrared heat works by penetrating joints, muscles and tissues, speeding oxygen glow and increasing circulation. It relieves tension and relaxes muscles, reducing soreness on nerve ending and in muscle spasms, thus helping the body to heal itself. It takes metabolic debris and waste out of a sore or injured muscle, and detoxifies the area. Athletes can improve their performance by at least 5% by using infrared light to detoxify, because detoxification increases energy production.

-Increased Circulation & Strengthened Cardiovascular System

Infrared Saunas heat your muscles with infrared rays and produce an increase in blood flow similar to regular exercise. Blood flow during infrared sauna use has been reported to rise from a normal rate of 5-7 quarts per minute to as much as 13 quarts per minute. In turn, better blood circulation means more toxins flow to the skin’s surface, cleansing the pores.

-Lowered Blood Pressure

-Relaxation

-Skin Purification and Improved Skin Tone and Elasticity

A study showed significant improvements in skin appearance after just 12 weeks of sauna skin therapy using near-infrared technology. Participants experienced a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness.
